1. Data stored on the device
Books, page numbers, deadlines, reading history, styles, and user-selected photos are stored in the app’s spaces on the iPhone. A minimal copy of current books is placed in the Apple App Group for the widget. Reminders are scheduled locally by iOS.
Depending on the user’s Apple settings, this data may be included in an encrypted iPhone backup in iCloud or on a computer. MARQUE-PAGES does not access or use those backups.
2. Book catalogs and external services
For an ISBN lookup, the app queries catalogs in sequence and stops at the first usable result. The ISBN may be sent to Google Books when configured, then Open Library, and finally the French National Library catalog. The selected provider also receives normal connection data such as the IP address. Remote cover images are downloaded from their hosting provider.
When an Amazon link is shared, the app may contact Amazon over HTTPS to follow a supported redirect. A sanitized reference and the title provided by iOS can be stored temporarily on the device. MARQUE-PAGES does not scrape or retain the product-page content.
See the policies of the Internet Archive, BnF, Google, and Amazon.
3. Voluntary sharing
The app can locally generate a PNG containing title, author, page, progress and, depending on the selected bookmark, a cover, personal photo, or reading label. Original photo metadata is not embedded. The user chooses the destination in the iOS Share sheet.
A .marquepages file contains only a technical invitation ID and bibliographic metadata. It never includes the current page, progress, deadline, history, reminders, personal photos, style, or local book ID.
4. Subscription
Apple processes the annual Unlimited subscription through StoreKit. MARQUE-PAGES does not receive or store payment details. Apple handles subscription management, renewal, and cancellation.
5. Retention, deletion, and permissions
Deleting a book removes its active app data and images from the iPhone. Deleting the app removes its library from the device. An earlier copy can remain in an Apple backup until the user deletes or replaces that backup. There is no remote account to delete.
Camera, Photos, and notification permissions can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings.
6. Support messages
When someone emails support@marque-pages.fr, their email address, message, and chosen attachments are processed to answer the request, secure the mailbox, and keep useful case history. The legal basis is the requested support service and the publisher’s legitimate interest in security and follow-up.
The domain’s mail is routed through OVHcloud infrastructure. Messages are retained while the request is handled and, unless legally required, for no more than twelve months after closure. Contact the same address to request access, correction, or deletion. Complaints may be filed with the French CNIL.
